You don't have to be a die-hard computer nerd to use ZyXEL's new X150N router, you just need $40 and the ability to plug things in without electrocuting yourself. Aimed at the entry-level audience, ZyXEL is billing their latest router as a cinch to setup with little to maintenance or support once it's all up and running.

Despite the ease-of-use, ZyXEL insists the X150N is both speedy and secure. WPA2 AES wireless encryption comes as part of the deal, as does on-board, one-button encryption. Other features include a built-in Firewall, Dynamic DNS, UPnP, bandwidth management, VPN pass-through, and MAC address filtering, among other geeky nomenclature most entry-level users won't understand anyway.

Full-powered router is ideal for non-techies, delivering quality, speed and security at an affordable price

ANAHEIM, May 24, 2010 – ZyXEL Communications Inc., a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, today introduced the X150N, a full-featured 802.11n router that’s fast, extremely easy to set up and requires virtually no maintenance or support.

As new technology products are being added to home networks, resources may not be available to properly install them. With the X150N, ZyXEL has provided a high-quality, powerful yet simple means to enjoy wireless connectivity, requiring little setup time and no technical background.

The router includes an easy-to-read installation guide that makes setting up ZyXEL’s X150N straightforward. It’s compatible with wireless g devices and computers, and able to connect to computers with the latest wireless n adapters.

Simple, Speedy, Secure
The X150N allows users to securely explore the Web, as they are protected by business-quality safeguards through its onboard firewall and state-of-the-art WPA2 AES wireless encryption to block hackers. With on-board, one-button encryption, the user can create a secure wireless connection with any Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) enabled client with a single click. It also has features that allow parents to block objectionable content from children.

With speeds of up to 150 Mbps, the X150N is ideal for enjoying the Internet, handling emails, gaming, and streaming music, videos, photos and other media throughout the home.

“For more people to enjoy the benefits of Internet access, a simple router is becoming increasingly necessary,” said Dana Patrick, director of North American channels for ZyXEL. “With the X150N, ZyXEL offers even the non-technical consumer a secure wireless router that’s easy to setup and use at a very attractive price.”

X150N is priced at $39.99 MSRP and is currently available for sale.

I have a ZyXEL n-router and it is fast. Mine is a different model number though.

Dogs are great judges of character, and if your dog doesn't like somebody being around, you shouldn't trust them.
