Dell has made little to no effort to keep their "Streak" Tablet a secret, but when everyone else is doing a tablet, we sort of understand the need to make it public knowledge. After months and months of leaks and rumors, Dell is finally putting all of that conjecture behind them and getting official with the 5" Streak, which is set to launch early next month in the UK exclusively on O2.

Pricing plans for the device haven't been made public, but one thing that's certainly unique about the Streak compared to other tablets is this unit's ability to act as a mobile phone. It will almost certainly be the largest "phone" you've ever seen beside someone's head, but with a 5" display, it will also be one of the best for surfing the Web, playing back videos and handling e-mail.

The device is based on Android, and it will have a 1GHz Qualcomm Snagdragon processor, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G WWAN, access to the Android Market and Flash 10.1 support in the future thanks to an impending Android 2.2 update. There's also integrated Google Maps with turn-by-turn navigation, a full WVGA capacitive multi-touch display, 5MP camera, 2GB of internal memory and a MicroSD expansion slot.

Now, if only Dell would announce this unit for the rest of the world...

This is one piece of amazing tech. I think this should sell really really well, considering the reception for Motorola DROID.

The features and apps of this Streak are truly great, but the question is would it be a replacement for iPad? The reason why it is a combination is because the screen is slightly bigger than a cellular phone, but allows things like internet pages inside their initial form. Obviously the device is much smaller than a table, it is multifunctional, with a web cam in front also. Dell is going to be issuing this phone first in Europe and then partnering with AT&T to release the phone in America. Dell is known for their less costly products that usually function as well as other similar ones, but sometimes their quality does falter due to the cheaper units, so we will need to wait until its release to see how this phone does.
