ViewSonic aren't really known in the industry for their PC making. Mostly, they're known for accessories and LCD panels. But the small form factor PC sector has been sagging lately, and new competition is always welcome. The new VOT125 PC Mini is more mini than it is mighty, but it should suit casual PC users who value space over power just fine.

The machine was originally revealed at CES, but it has just now shipped to consumers in the U.S. It boasts a "green-centric" design, using up to 90% less plastic and consuming up to 90% less energy than traditional tower PCs. It's also using an Intel ULV CPU, which helps keep power drain to a minimum. The entire machine is in a 0.6L form factor, which measures 1.5" x 5.1" x 4.5". Windows 7 comes loaded on, but Vista and XP options are apparently available for business users still using operating systems from the past.

Other specifications include 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, four USB 2.0 ports, DVI/HDMI outputs Ethernet/Wi-Fi connections and an all-black design. It's available now for $499, and it just might be the perfect PC for that studio apartment you're squeeze into.

ViewSonic has some great monitors-- I wonder why they didn't add one and make this an All-In-One design? Sure, they have one with an 18.5" screen, but this one could have had a flip-up 7" screen, like the Mimo touch screen USB-powered unit. Well, one could always call it $594 and add it yourself.
