These are very nice touch screens. When I used to work at BestBuy: Geek Squad, we sold these units. The touch screen were very responsive and, at the time, very tempting over an apple solution. However, there are many things to consider, atleast in my eyes, when buying one of these units, cost of ownership. If your screen goes out, well, you have to ship the entire unit to HP and not just the tower, since there is not tower.
Then you have the dreaded equipment updates.......well, thats it, you realy can't upgrade much on these machines. The ram and hard drive, I do believe were the only two things you could update on the models, however, these new models maybe different.
However, I honestly wouldn't mind playing mine sweeper on the unit at all or ink ball.
The HP Pavilion Elite, is a really nice looking system.
For me this is the best way to start. When these came to Sam's Club I picked one up. Yes it used a lame Foxconn MoBo And a cheap PSU. But for the price, at least you get started with a case, Monitor, Hard Drive DVD,OS and memory. You can always upgrade from there. Just make sure you pick one with the components you need to get started.
It is good to see that they now have BluRay players and the Quad processors.
All in all, they're good solutions for non-technical types who want a simple computer for in home use. Gamers wouldn't be interested in them though.
This is a good machine for the wife, or for the parents to use.
Dogs are great judges of character, and if your dog doesn't like somebody being around, you shouldn't trust them.
LOL realneil, that is true and maybe for your little kids (Hope they don't break it...).
I like the new look and they are an overall good system for normal uses.
