We're not sure this will help Samsung sell more TVs, but for what it's worth, Samsung this week announced that its new LED 7000 and 8000 series of 2010 HDTVs will come with embedded Skype software.

"Our consumers want their televisions to be a 'one-stop-shop' for entertainment and communication delivered with the highest quality," said Kevin Kyungshik Lee, Vice President of Visual Display at Samsung Electronics. "Including Skype on our TVs meets that expectation perfectly. We're trhilled that Samsung's consumers can now use our TVs to experience the rich video and voice communication that hundreds of millions of Skype users worldwide enjoy."

Both HDTV series include Samsung's free Internet@TV service, giving consumers access to "select online content." And just like Skype on your PC, calling grandma (you do call your grandma, don't you?) won't cost a dime, so long as you both have a Skype account. Skype video calls will also be free, though for all this to work, you'll need to attach a mic and webcam.

Koreans get first crack at the new tech with compatible HDTVs shipping right away, while the rest of the world will have to wait until sometime in the first half of 2010.

His face is closest to the cam acarzt. This goes with the visio apps thing. Or at least on the same line of having app's on a HD TV, as well as having wireless connectivity.

I'm guessing the dad was added digitally, and that the kid was originally standing with his arms around a huge pile of Mike & Ike's...

which resulted in this:
