"We are not anti-technology," reStart psychotherapist Hilarie Cash told AFP. "It is about helping people addicted to technology get through the withdrawal and help their brains get wired back to normal and connected to the world in a positive way."
The reStart rehab program includes teaching skills such as starting conversations and reading body language.Videogame addicts typically need to be reprogrammed to be conscientious about everyday tasks such as bathing, cooking, and household chores, according to reStart. They also need tutoring when it comes to dating.
The program has beds for six patients and a 45-day stay costs $14,500 dollars plus incidentals. There's also an outpatient program for 18- to 28-year-olds, specifically those who have basically spent most of their time online looking at porn. Many of them have had little or no exposure to sex in real life.
Just go on vacation where you cannot get a cell signal. My favorite is camping or the beach. I don't want my phone to get dirty and I don't get internet access/ cell service well at the camp site. So leaving technology in the drawer and socialize w/ friends is much cheaper than a Rehab center.
Wow, that is downright scary. Worse than gambling or drugs huh?
Internet addiction is increasing in teenagers. There are number of people are internet addicted and it is also uncontrollable. Spending more time on internet is very bad for our health and sometimes, it is directly affect on our mind also.
I read about this a while ago in my Official Xbox Magazine. Yeah I can relate but I'm not that bad lol. Still I'm viewing internet more as a common utility more with each year.
