"Basically this character was one of the people who had been running EBank for a while. He took a bunch of (virtual) money out of the bank, and traded it away for real money."
"I'm not proud of it at all, that's why I didn't brag about it. But you know, if I had to do it again, I probably would've chosen the same path based on the same situation."
News:he embezzled about 200 billion interstellar kredits (ISK), the game's virtual currency.
If more Interstellar Kredits (ISK) are issued to cover the theft, is there a danger of creating virtual-inflation?

@Dave: Yes, inflation is actually almost always a threat to MMOs, especially with private servers having high rates or with unfair trades going on.
Some day someone decides that his mining material is worth more than everyone else's and sells it for more, then some people join him to up the price, and the price steadily goes up.
A classic example is the SProtect in eFlyFF - at first players sold it for 1 or 2 million of the game's currency, but it was raised steadily as more high level players reaches the 100s. Eventually coming up to around 4-5 million in eFlyFF's oldest running server - Lawolf. Since the SProtect is a Cash Shop item meant to stop items from breaking during upgrading, it's critical to eFlyFF's gameplay, however newbie players were cut off from it completely because they had no money to spend. This caused less players to have highly upgraded gear and then players levelled more slowly and some left the game.
