While not quite out in time for our GTX 285 round-up, Sparkle's making sure you have just one more option when it comes time to lay out for a new NVIDIA GPU. The company's non-extravagant GeForce GTX 285 arrives in just two forms: a 1GB version and a 2GB version. According to the company, this card provides up to 30% faster performance than rivaling single-GPU solutions, but we're a bit wary of believing that blindly.

At any rate, the specifications list shows a 648MHz core clock speed, GDDR3 memory, a 512-bit memory interface, 240 stream processors, a 1476MHz shader clock, PCI-Express 2.0 bus type, 400MHz RAMDAC and dual DVI-I outputs. Sparkle makes no mention of price, but considering just how second-rate the specs seem, we'd guess it'll be launched at a competitive point.

  • Extreme DX10 HD Gaming Experience
The SPARKLE GeForce GTX 285 1GB/2GB are the world’s most powerful single GPU graphics cards solution, delivering 30% faster performance than competing single GPU solutions. Compared with ordinary GeForce GTX 285 graphics cards on market with 1GB video memory, SPARKLE GeForce GTX 285 2GB Graphics Card comes with incredible large 2GB GDDR3 video memory, making them to be first batch of GTX 285 graphics cards in the world with 2GB video memory.

1. I already have an EN9800GTX+

2. Not a lot of Linux games take advantage of GPU memory beyond the... oh, let's say 32MB mark. :p

3. BUT I STILL WANT IT.

While I doubt there is a 30% improvement( Maybe in one app) I do like the fact that Sparkle is always breaking the mold in this "Get the brand that has the best game bundled' GPU market.
