Verizon Wireless LG VersaVerizon Wireless announced the LG Versa, a modular touchscreen phone with different attachments that let you customize the phone to your liking. One attachment of note is a QWERTY keyboard for easier texting. Of course, the phone can also be used without the keyboard, thanks to the phone’s 3-inch touchscreen display.

The Versa boasts of a 3D interface with customizable home screens. The phone offers a full HTML Web browser with support for Flash and RSS feeds. You can have up to three browser windows open at a time. For high-speed connectivity, the phone supports EVDO Rev A. For browsing on your laptop, you can tether the Versa and use it as a modem. To do so, however, you’ll have to pay the $59.99 Mobile Broadband Connect access fee.

Like many popular phones, the Versa has a built-in accelerometer that will automatically rotate the screen from portrait to landscape. Other features include support for Verizon's V Cast Music with Rhapsody, V Cast Video, Visual Voice Mail (for $2.99/month), and GPS with VZ Navigator. The Versa also has 2.0 megapixel camera with face detection and a built-in image editor, a microSD card slot (up to 16GB), USB mass storage mode, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, threaded text messaging, and a drawing pad.

LG and Verizon Wireless hope to release additional attachments for the Versa in the future. Some accessories that have been mentioned include an external speaker attachment and a game pad controller.

The Versa will be available on March 1 for $199.99 after a two year agreement and a $50 mail in rebate.
