Hey all,

My friend gave me his pny 8800 gtx overclocked edition (xlr8) and apparently it's supposed to be factory overclocked, but rivatuner (just downloaded v2.23) says it has regular 8800 gtx clock times.  Rivatuner told me to reboot so it could get the correct times, and I did, but the clock times are not OC.  This article http://hothardware.com/Articles/PNY_XLR8_8800_GTX_OC/ shows the clock times for my card and the regular gtx.  I also uninstalled my old nvidia drivers and installed the latest ones, then installed riva. Something I havent done? Thanks!!

Thats odd. You can always just set them back in Rivatuner.

Also good friend!

Download GPU-Z and log the temps. Maybe it is getting to hot.

One thing I noticed is that with the OC editions they aren't always OCed right.  When I was looking at my 9800gtx, there was an OC version, however many reviews were negative stating that they got artifacts right out of the box.

Is there a reason why you need the higher clock speed...I mean it's a free card.
