Phenom X3 8450 and Athlon X2 6000+ cost the same ,I do not know which one to buy.

AMD Phenom X3 8450 Triple Core Processor
(2.1GHz, 2MB, 1800MHz FSB, Socket AM2+)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Duel Core Processor
(3.00 GHz, 2MB, Socket AM2)

Help me choose please.

It depends on what applications you want to run.  If you're going to be gaming, don't do a lot of multi-tasking, and mostly run basic office-type applications, the X2 will be faster most of the time.  If you run mostly multi-threaded apps that could benefit from the third core, the X3 may be the best choice.

Of those two chips in particular though, the 6000+'s much higher clock speed will make it faster in the vast majority of circumstances.

If you plan to overclock, the decision once again should center around the application workload.

Yes, just like Marco said. If you plan to overclock your processor, then I would go with the X3 because you could easily overclock it to 3Ghz with a better cooler. This would give you the same results on applications that only use single-core while giving you even faster performance when using multiple-cores.
