Okay, so I just bought a 22" Widescreen monitor, and I'll be gaming at 1680 x 1050... So needless to say, my 7300GT won't do it any more... Originally, I was planning on a 4850, but I've come into a little extra money (I can go as high as $210), so I can get a better card... And now I'm screwed because I can't decide... 9800GTX for $150? 9800GTX+ for $185? 4850 for $155? Or even a GTX 260 for $210? Idk guys, I really need a hand here though... Now if a 4870 drops as low as $210 or $220 on Black Friday, I'll borrow the extran $10, but if not, it's down to the cards I named... Idk which to pick! lol

Hi,

aI'd recommend the ATI 4850, as it should be more than enough power to play games on a 1680x1050 resolution. It'll also leave you in a good position if you buy a new card in the future as you can crossfire the two.

Thanks

Hey Lain! I have a 22" at 1680x1050. I have to 4870s and I actually have moved one to my girls rig since anything minus crysis runs great with one. If you can swing it I'd grab a 4870. If not check out this review. Should help you out http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1297&pageID=5005

The 9800GTX+ is sometimes beaten by the 4850, so that's a no go.  GTX 260... maybe.  The Radeon 4870 is a better bet, but yeah it costs more.  Get the 4850, and put the extra $50 towards your 2010 video card upgrade.  Besides Crysis, you'll be able to handle anything at 1050 with a 4850.  My 3850, on an AMD CPU, can handle anything at the resolution besides Crysis, so no doubt a 4850 will, especially if you are Core 2 for your CPU.

Good deals!

I've spent plenty at Tiger... only place they fall short IMO is the fact that they only give you a 30 day replacement window vs. Newegg which gives you a year on well over half of their inventory.

Keep in mind that's after a huge rebate.  Similar prices are on Newegg if you count their rebates too.  But I never do.  Rebates never come back for me.

Ya, :( Right now it's looking to still be a 4850.
