Recently, I had to transfer all of my parts from one case to another, and some bad things happened... For the second time, I dropped my CPU on concrete (First time was only about 6 inches, and that was when I was building it, and this time was about two feet, she still works, but the PoS heatsink broke, and now only three of the four prongs are into my mobo. She's on there real snug, but I don't know if I should get a new one... My temps are around 30C idle (I'm OC'd from 2.53GHz to 3.17GHz with an Intel E7200) and have hit as high as 50C. So, should I get a new cooler or not?
I would get one. It might be snug now, but if it falls off the cpu will be fried before you can even start to reach for the power button. It could also fall and take out your graphics card with it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4l8aQ07yvU and these are older cpus that run much cooler with less power.
The tepms look good. but the mounting is less then ideal.
