    My move to 64bit

I've been wanting to move to 64bit vista for a while and I have a friend with a 64bit disk. I know I can send for 64bit disks from microsoft but I was just wondering if I have to get a new key from microsoft or if mine that I got with my 32 retail disk will work.

EDIT: also if I do a clean install will it still make a windows.old folder as with the loss of one of my hard drives I have some files not backed up. Not ones that I can't loss but some shows off of my tv tuner and such that I don't need but would like to have.

Super Dave you are truely amazing. I wish I had your googling skills. I't looks like I need to buy a 64 full version. Blah! Guess I'll hold off a little longer

Why thank you very much, Bob! I am curious...aside from being able to utilize more memory than the 32-bit version, is there any advantage to running the 64-bit edition at this time?

better security. But not much at the time. It doesn't hurt anything though. I just haven't reinstalled since vista came out and its starting to show a little sluggishness. I want to get 4GB or ram in the next year so I figured it would save me a step but think I'll just reinstall 32bit vista.
