Hi Hothardware! I'm about to buy a new pc, but i cant make up my mind about my motherboard. here is atleast what i've came up with. GPU - MSI 9800GTX 512mb GDDR3 CPU - Intel core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GhzPower Supply - http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=340676 (Corsair Powersupply 650W Black, ATX/EPS, 120mm Fan, 8xSATA, SLI)
I'm considering buying - Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6, DDR3.
I'm aiming for DDR3, and imma go OC
So my real problem is to find a good motherboard. (for gaming ofc) So please give my your opinion abt it.
Just reply if u want any other info abt the system. Best regards! Azur

Testing out the pictures, eh? This board also allows for Water cooling if you want or you cna keep it with air.
So u agree with that asus is better than that bigabyte one i suggested from the start?
The adavantge with that board is x48 chipset, more ports and, more slots. I guess you could go with ti but I dont knwo how OC will work out.

LOL I guess I,ll stick with AIR!!
I would go with this Power supply has the best reviews more wattage is sli and crossfire certified and I trust the company more http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817341011 by the way this is a much better PS than the corsair
and this MB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188025 or this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131276 this is basically your call the Maximus by asus is nice to just giveing you some solid options for price
No1 has really given me any solid answer, jsut "pick this [.url]www.mobo.good/[ //url ]"
I'd like to know why i should pick it and why its better than the Gigabyte one. (not too expensive, just around the gigabyte onei'sh)
I got directed here by www.pchelpforum.com/ , they said this site the right knowledge.

Ok I'll try my best to answer your question.
The Gygabyete one ($330): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128330
- Its a good board but, its expensive and comes with little as far as the package goes.
Asus Rampage ($290) *I would reccoment this one to you*: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131284
- Almost the same as the Gygabyet borad but its less expensive and comes with a better bundel. Also it has some nicer features. Built into the bios.
Asus P5E3 Premium ($370): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131276
- Same as above but has nicer heat pipe designe and come with built in wifi recever.
Evga 132-CK-NF790-A1 ($340): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188025
- The only board that is not running the X48 chipset of the bunch. 790i is a good chipset, it has some problems with some types of ram, but all in all is a good board.

Rampage is a good idea, but it doesnt support DDR3. And Azur I take it you didnt like my post. Let me try to explain. The maximus is better becuase cost a lot less and gives you the smae functionality, and more OCing options in the bios.
Thanks for a good reply! That was really an answer i was looking for
It's a shame that the Asus rampage doesnt support DDR2. But i might consider it. Do you know how it goes with OC?
And about the Asus P5E3 It might be too expensive for me, it wasnt a part of my budget. How is it to OC with?
Evga It had quite the same price as the P5E3 and had the old chipset (as u mentioned) It also supports 3way SLI (ultra SLI). I mean maybe in the future i'll go SLI but 3way is not jsut worth it, til i need that good of grafic preformence, i guess i'll buy another system. And the fact that that MoBo has has three SLI ports, maybe that makes it.. how should i put it... "more expensive" right?
What's you opinion about the Asus Maximus Mesiter? (That SqUiD suggest) and what MoBo would you go for? (from those youjsut suggested) and why?
No offense Der meister, sorry for (keeping) asking troublesome questions. I'm very glad that you assist me in my seeking of the perfect MoBo.
Thanks!
AAzzz.

Aus Maximus one seams to be a good one. Maybe its the one i'm looking for. It's a shame that it uses x38. But eventhough, i cant tell the differences between x38 and x48. (maybe you can?) And you say its good with OC. But i question myself, it supports watercooling, does that make it more expensive? the price fits my wallet though.
Thank you very much for your respons!
xX
ps. Sorry for a long post.
Azur:It's a shame that the Asus rampage doesnt support DDR2.
If your option is ddr2 You could use the Asus Blitz Formula
The Asus Maximus is a great board too!
All three of these boards are great options you cant go wrong!
Good Luck!! Thats my 2cts worth Now Im broke Again!

It supports it but its not needed to use properly. It doesnt cost more, beacuse it has holes if water cooling is used, if not air is used. Air works perfectly fine with it. The only advantage with x48 is the guarantee of 1600mhz FSB. x38 is not. Like I said its OCing abilities is good because you get full control like voltage, FSB, ect. Hope this helped. This link explains it more deeply.
I don't have any knolage on any of them first hand, Just a few reviews and the past mobo's from the companies. The Maximus isn't bad, but i do think your paying a premium for the "water" option that it sound like you won't use. The Evga mobo is actually the current top end chipset from Nvidia, just like the X48 is for Intel. I didnt even notice that the Rampage was only DDR2 i assumed it would be since ever other mobo i looked at that has the X48 chipset was. I never would have figure that it would not have supported it. My all in all I think the pefromance increase you get from DDR3 isn't then best, top end DDR2 is still really competive. Do some tweaking on it and get the CPU and RAM running quick and in 1:1 FSB to ram MHz then it will fly.
Hope that helped some, its not a big deal keep the questions comming that why i come back every day it to help out.
Those Asus boards with the waterblock on the Nb are fine for air cooling only. Don't expect to much out of them if you watercool. The 1 thing you can expect out of them is too leak. Look around at others who have had the board and you'll see. All of these boards are great boards imo.
Honestly if you want to oc and good a good board for your money I would go with this DFI board. Even though it only supports DDR2 I think it's a great buy for what you want and DDR2 is cheaper anyway
Allright, I've made up my mind, im going for ddr2. seams like ddr3 isnt worth buying jsut yet.
So now am i into the
Asus Rampage x48 ddr2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131284
Can any1 say how it goes with OC? or jsut general.

So i decided for ddr2.
I've hear some good stuff about the:
Crosair Dominator TWIN2X8500C5D http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145043
But, i can put more money on memory though! the dominator is rather cheap.
(maybe this question doesnt belong to this thread though. but when i make up my mind abt mobo and mem, im good to go and order, and if i oder tonight i may get it b4 the weekend.)
Hope you can give me a quick answer! :)
Regards!azzzzzzz
Ps. Here is what i've picked up, if u wanna see.
the price is SEK (swedish kronor)

I'm here! The mobo is good. Ram I would pick http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231144 Because I have had a better time with g skill rather corsair. You can oc to wither ram urs or mine 1200 (ram speed) easy. The rampage gives better options to ocing, it is also a Energy efficient mobo.Either ram will do. So you are good.
Due the site i'll oder from doesnt have G.SKILL in storage, i'll get the crosair ones'. One of my close friends' has it too and i trust his judgement.
thanks for your reply, im just about to order the the rig!
(*happy*, one year since last time,i need an upgrade i can tell you that, with my 7600gt ! and amd 2.41ghz with a broken coolingsystem)
Updates will come when its built! hopefully this weekend, and "more hopefully" w/o any complications. and pics will come upp too, it is indeed a really beautiful tower.
ciaoooo
