Its all about the eyeballs and advertising $$$. Traditional TV advertising's revenue model is very stagnant, with the addition of CNet CBS gets one of the top 10 internet advertings networks as well as a lot of great tech content. It works but i wonder if they overpaid.
Also there are some podcast shows on CNet that would make a great fit on some of CBS' radio stations. I can see Buzz out Loud on the radio as a tech news show.
