Looks like this is the new "Maximus" for Asus. It uses x48 chipset, and DDR2 memory rather then x38 and DDR3 memory. Those looks like great options. Price is around $280. The Maximus ran around $330! I'm hopping to slap a QX9770 or something like that on it and O/C around 4 Ghz.

Yea, I was considering that same board. It still is a bit pricey compared to other x38 boards using ddr2 but EK carries all the waterblocks for chipsets and mosfets for this board but not so much for other brands. It's about 60 bucks more than the Abit board I was going to get but EK only has a nbridge block for the ABit board and not sbridge and mosfet. 1 thing ASUS does that annoys me for such high priced board is the crappy bundles that come with it. It would be nice if they could include some round IDE cables instead of ribbon cables and maybe some sata cables that mach the board like blue instead of red. Just the little things sorta like DFI does. ASus has the most expensive boards on the market it would just be nice if they went the extra step.
We have a full review of this product coming up in the next week or so, Squid! Stick around!
