how ironic would it be for pirates to start writing their own encryption lol.. might actually make a break through in that field.

whoa - these new forums are uber buggy when using firefox on linux - just a heads up mods...
anyway - if the FCC is charging comcast then you guys should be more pissed off at your congressman and not the ISPs. If the Federal Government is charging comcast then what the heck do you want them to do about it? Write your congressman and let them know how important your online rights are to you.
FlyinBrian:I hate to play devils advocate.. but i could careless if they limit torrent traffic if it keeps my internet lag free in the process. Most people know that most use torrents for ilegal activity. So.. it doesnt really effect me since i buy my stuff legally.
WoW's patching system is based off of the bittorent client and is greatly hindered by comcast

I think it is just another attempt to take away some of our freedom.
windstream okay right now
It is true that some of these bitorrent applications have encrypting. But I'm not sure how well it would work in this scenario. All I know is that Utorrent has the feature.
But as stated, bitorrent could actually help content distribution so much, blizzard has adopted it and it's probably saving them literally tons on bandwidth costs. Yes it may be true that torrenting is mostly based on pirating programs, but it has a lot of potential to companies as well. But if this does go through, they'll just point the blame somewhere else and try to stop that as well, probably usenet is next, a service that's been around since the 1980's if my facts are right.
The truth is, there will ALWAYS be a way for pirating via the internet....it will be almost impossible to stop.
