I know this has probably been asked many times ,but what I really need to know is if all the ethernet adapters I have even support ICS.   I've setup ICS many different ways but Internet never makes it to the client computer.  Ok,heres what I have.

      1st computer: FX-53,2 gig RAM,A8V mobo.XP SP2

1st ethernet :  Marvell Yukon Gigabit ethernet 10/100/1000 Base T-adapter

2nd ethernet:  Realtek RTL 8139 Family PCI fast ethernet NIC

     ------------------------------------------------------------

      2nd computer: XP sp1, xp3000,1gig RAM,KT6

Ethernet: VIA Rhine II fast ethernet adapter

Using a Lantec cat 5e crossover cable

      -----------------------------------------------------------------

When I connect the two together it says it's connected on both ports on the host at 100mbs, and the under the icon for the clients

network connection it says "enabled" . The status says connected at 100mbs but no internet.

The host computer will not run network setup wizard it freezes and I have to ctrl, alt, delete and get "not responding"

And when I enable connection sharing internet on the host ,internet quits working on it too as well.

I can't seem to find any information about the VIA rhine II adapter , so I'm suspecting that as the problem.

I've tryed auto, static IP's, setup wizard.

I know I should get a router, but I've already spent money on the realtek and the cable, and one computer having to be on all the time is no problem.

I've also disabled all firewalls ,uninstalled anti virus, etc.
