Don't laugh.  But it is actually a skill.  And a skill worth having if you even work in the corporate world and have to deal with superiors that aren't as well versed.

If you can help these people, rather than fight with them, or try to make them feel inferior, eveyone wins.  If you're dealing with a meatball that simply can't be reasoned with, its best to try explain breifly why you think they're wrong and if it doesn't help just avoid contact.  But in some cases, you'll change their mind and could end up with a new business contact, friend, or whatever...

A flaming bag of poo on their door step always makes me smile.  All kidding aside, you post to help them, if they are to thick headed to accept the help that is their problem. Most of the time you hope your post helps the person asking for help, or someone else with a similar problem.

Haha, is there a prior thread that made THIS thread arise?

The easiest thing for me is to just simply pick up your monitor, stick your knee through it....break the KB in half over your head....and put your hand in a hot waffle iron; usually works.

The most recent example I can give is a certain new poster here @ HH with a vid card for an avy(hint, hint)... I wanna flame them to oblivion so bad!

It's not so much that they pissed me off directly, but committed a few "fouls". It's posters like this that I feel don't belong here at HH and ultimately degrade it(not individually, but numerous individuals like this could collectively to a certain extent)!!!

I find that most of theses types don't stick around very long.  I offer advice what little i have to give if they don't like it no big it's not like my life revolves around what people i don't even know think. Sometimes it is hard though as everyone has stated but I can always choose not to open a topic from certain people. Besides our admins do a pretty good job of keeping people in line. It's sorta like the imature 10 year old on a gaming server the more attention you give them the more they do it. Just ignore them.

i know who your talking about and they have been on my radar for some time now. But wit that being said to answer you question is i just simply ignore them. its the internet after all its not like you have to deal with them in person.  I find the ignoring them or not giving into them and stooping to their level is the best way to deal with these types of people. And like stated above they tend to have a short shelf life in the forum.

I know what you mean. I mean I really can't stand people with chimeras as their avatars. I just hate them.
