Finally got my home theater finalized...pics inside + BioShock pics!

Well i've been in the new house for a little over a month now. We have finally finished with everything and I FINALLY got my HT the way i wanted it. I got the wires hidden under the baseboards and all speakers hung and positioned correctly.

My HT consists of a Samsung 46" DLP TV, Onkyo HTS-790 7.1 1000w Surround Sound, PS3, Wii, X-Box 360, and Dish Network DVR.

lol. Thanks for the comments all. I have to give credit to my wife. She chose the wall colors and the sofa colors...I chose everything else :) I still have a little bit of wire management for the front speakers and going from the TV to the audio/video rack.

I've worked really hard for all that I have so I don't think I'll be giving anything away anytime soon...but you can all come over and play if you would like! :) We'll be watching Pirates on Blu-Ray tonight and playing some of the new Bio-Shock demo that was released on Live last night!!!!

Looks nice matey, do you notice any blockyness or pixelation being that distance from the screen?

I bought a new 37" LCD job and find that it some times blocks up on color transition when I sit in some seats in the room. I'm sure there is some optimal distance, but my lounge isn't 100ft long though.

100ft on a 37" TV??? lol. If you can sit around 9-10ft back you should be fine. I sit 10.5ft from my 46" and i see no problems with it.

As promised...sorry for the crummy quality. Playing this game and trying to take pics isn't the easiest thing to do. I also do not sit as close as I used to in my old room... I can't get enough of this demo!!!

Again sorry for the sub-par photo quality. This game is easily the best looking game to date!

That's the one drawback to LCD's. Especially older models. Because of how LCD technology works fast moving scenes or alot of action you will sometimes notice the blockiness or pixalation but more often than not you'll notice ghosting. They also have a much larger problem with viewing angles. Even as much as just 20% and you will start to notice a drop off in picture quality. If your room is set up to where you will have wide viewing angles than a plasma screen is your best option. Now as far as the blockiness being noticed only at a distance. I have no explanation for that. It honestly doesn't make any sense to me since all problems associated with display quality are usually more prominent when closer to the screen. Is this a problem associated with all types of media or maybe just your CATV.

I meant being the distantance from the screen that was shown in the pics.

It's not a problem as such, just an observation.

Re: Finally got my home theater finalized...pics inside!

I actually almost had my copy of BioShock last night. I head that some Toys R Us broke street date. I called my local TRU last night and the guy said they had 6 copies. I asked if he could hold one for me and I'd be there to get it in 15 minutes and he said sure. I got there and sure enough he had gone and pulled it and had it behind the register. We started talking about the game and three women that worked there came up. The one in the middle told him that he could sell it because it wasn't to be released until Tuesday. He told her that it was in the computer already and that means he can sell it. She took the bag and explained the whole thing to me and asked me to come back Tuesday to pick it up. The guy and the other two women all 3 said they had never heard of anything like that and they thought they could sell it because it was in the computer.

I had my copy in the bag and fixing to walk out...damn that lady and damn me being nice and talking to that guy. If we wouldn't have stood there chatting...the game would have been mine.
