it should fit since it does not extend the lenght of the card the only i don't think you'll have to worry about the HD but like you said you could always do like you said.

I'm having the same problem as UnlikelyAura. My case is the Thermaltake Tsunami Dream and i'm thinking about buying an 8800gtx in a couple of months. As far as i know, the length of the 8800gtx ist just a little bit too long for fitting in this case. The problem seems to be the hard drive cage. In order to to insert an 8800gtx in this case, the hard drive cage has to be removed. Yesterday, i've found an interesing image which you might find usefull, too :) Just look at this picture. As you can see, this user has completely removed his cage in order to insert the 8800gtx. His one and only hard drive is situated in the floppy disk drive, which actually seems to fit. But can you figure out how the hard drive is fixed? I can't find any holes which might be used for screwing the hard drive.
my gtx fits in my tsunami. but just bearly
Ok, now i've seen your pictures, too :D That's perfect, since yesterday I thought i have to buy a new case in order to use the 8800gtx. But by the way, do you see a chance to insert a hard drive into the floppy disk drive as you can see on my picutre two responses above?
You're saying your 8800gtx is from EVGA, right? Do you know if the length of those gpus might vary from producer to producer? If that is true I'd prefer to buy the same 8800gtx you have :) But the card cannot be damaged because of that lack of space in the case, can't it?
Thank you for your patience :) :)
all gtx's have the same form factor ie the same size, most are reference broad from Nvidia and the only thing that changes is the cooler on the card itself. Yes if you need more space for more HD's you can put them in the floppy drive spots as well. im going to be adding another HD to my case this weekend as well, so i'll have 2 HD's in the HD bay. i'll post up some pics of it when i get it done on Saturday.
got my new drive in, you can also see a slot cooler i have added since the original build.
Der Meister - I have the Zalman 9500 LED and I was thinking of upgrading my case to a Tsunami. I have an old D865 Intel mobo and the CPU socket is in a similar place yours is.
I want to kno is there enough room to install a PSU after the mobo? Do you post some pics of the PSU back please?
Thanks a lot
do you want a picture of the back of the PSU from inside the case? like this or up higher
An inside shot with a close up of the PSU and Zalman and another from above looking in and down into the PSU bay as best u can manage would be awesome
