I have been looking around at cases and I stumbled across this one and have seemed to like it the most. It has the clear sided windows - blue led lights on the fans in addition to that - 2x120 mm fans (front and rear) and one 90mm fan on the window side. So cooling should be good. But I was wondering.. for the fans.. to power the fan and the led, all it uses is a 4-pin molex connector right? And I've heard some people saying something about design flaws... what design flaws are there with this case? (One of the flaws i've heard is that some PSUs won't let you use the usb 1334 and audio ports on the top of the case because the psu is too big i think). So with this case:

Thermaltake Tsunami:
http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/tsunami/bwa/bwa.htm

and this psu:

http://www.thermaltake.com/product/Power/ToughPower/W0105/w0105.asp

I shouldn't have any problems... right? lol

Thats a nice case. I think some people on this forum have it. You might also want to consider the Antec 900. I got one, and I love it. One of the problems that people have had with the 900 is that the PSU cables don't reach, but the one you link to should be fine.

I did find this on a newegg review of that PSU

"*NOTE*: this psu is longer than most, so if you have a blowhole, this might not fit. mine fit with only about 1/4" to spare!"

Connecting the 92mm fan on the side of the case to the 3 pin on the motherboard is a little tedious, but otherwise it's a sweet case and really easy to put together.

Ok.. so an 8800 GTX would fit in the case? If so, then I'm going to have to find a different case. i"m looking at EVGA's 8800 GTX superclocked. Here is the link to it on newegg. I really like the design on this case and everything else.. I wouldn't have any space and or cooling problems, do ya think?

Thanks Der Meister. You think you could put up a picture of the inside of your case so I get the idea? lol That'd be highly appreciated.

sure...

this is what all looks like with the case door on.

It fits but just barely...

Every thing in and case door off... and yes the computer is on in the picture...

I use my 3.5in bay as the extra cable holder... that and the left over dvd drive bays...

Just want to know - have you bought your stuff and tried it yet? To others on the forums, I would like to buy this power supply and I have a Tsunami right now. This will be able to fit comfortably and allow my to use my top USB ports, right? I measured and I should have space, but I just want to make sure.

^^ Ok thanks for the reply. There is also the 106RU available, which is the same as this thermaltake, except modular. Why do so many people dislike modular PSUs? Isn't a slight power loss the only difference?

Thermaltake is a good brand, I would love to have a modular PSU, i think many people just don't use them correctly... the power loss in minimal really. Thermaltake, Seasonic and Antec and a few others make quality PUS's.

Hey Der, you think I could fit this cpu fan with the evga a1 680i mobo too? lol
Thermaltake Ruby Orb fan
And does the thermal glue for the heatsink/cpu come with the aftermarket cpu fans or do you have to buy some glue seperate?
Any info would be great. Thanks

I bought some arctic sliver, but my 9700 did come with its own thermal paste as well. Humm it would be hard to say really, unless i can see it in person and see what all the dimensions are it looks to me like i might interfere.... It looks like it might interfere with the northbridge heat sink/ some capacitors on the Mobo... i have that exact mobo as well

Ok.. kewl. Well how well does your Zalman work? And what exactly is FAN MATE 2? Does it fit in a drive bay? Lol. You have to be getting tired of me by now.. Oh.. and i was just wondering if you could explain to me about memory latencies.. i've seen 4-4-4- 5-5-5- and 6-6-6- etc.. which is better etc.. thanks again. lol

The 9700 works really well it ran at 25C at stock speeds and it runs nicely OC'd as well, i think you cold get about 3.4 out of it before you hit any thermal limits. The fan mate 2, which can be seen in the 3rd picture just below the rear exhaust fan (its the back thing with the wires running from the cooler to it. It allows you to manually set you fan settings, though it wont allow the CPU to throttle the fan. which would be nice some times when my computer is at idle since with the 9700 at full rpm and the case fans on it has a nice hum. But if you turn the 9700 down to say a mid RMP the sound just about goes away. For memory generally the lower the latency the faster the ram is. how much faster is depends on what latency it it. i had some ddr2 that had a cas latency of 4 they ran nice and fast, now i have ram thats a cas latency of 6 and they run about 5seconds sower when loading BF2 but that could also be that i don't run my CPU at 3.2 any more so i cant really tell which one the the culprit behind my 5 second longer load times. With that said im still just about the first one to load every new map. the only peopel who have beaten me had been running quad cores and higher OC'd dual cores. Ask away thats what im here for...
