I have always seen Logtech as a high quality brand. Everything I have ever owned that was made by them has been very high quality. The MX1000 laser mouse is no exception. Ever since I first saw it I was in love with it. It is the perfect mouse. It is perfectly weighted and has four feet so it easily glides over any surface. The scroll wheel works like any other, but surrounding the wheel are 4 buttons. The familar ones being jump up and jump down a page, but this mouse also has side to side jump buttons. This is really nice to have if editing large movies or designing large images in photoshop. But there are three more bottons on the side of the mouse which can do several tasks. The two arrow buttons can be programed to almost anything, but are by default mini scroll buttons which are nice to have for fine ajustments. The middle button alows your to switch applications. It comes up with a list of all the open programs and lets you select which on you want. The software works very well. It takes up minimal resources and allows you to reprogram buttons and change sensitivity. They support x64 and Linux. The ergonmic grip is very comfortable and natural. It took me a two or three days to get used to the new feel. It comes with a charging station, so you don't need to worry about changing batteries. The mouse comes with a 3 level battery indicator, and the battery lasts a very long time. I use it heavily for many hours a day, and it lasts 3 days before dropping to 2 bars, after that I just stick it on the charger and its fully charged with in an hour. The look of the mouse is very good with midnight grey color in the middle and black everywhere else. The buttons are silvers with green laser and battery indicator. After using this mouse, no other can compare. The $50 bucks for this mouse is easily worth the investment!
