&lt;p&gt;Nvidia still has a hill to climb yet with all the failures and of course the 4870 and the x2 it caught between some silicon and a hard place.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;from what ive seen the 280 can still hold its own, and is about 100-150 cheaper! so it isnt exactly a bad deal at all. for 100 dollars less you still get amazing performance and you get the ability to tri-sli them. i say that while amd is top dog now, it also has a lot to do with bang for buck, i say the 4870 is perfect in the price range it is in, and for the people who want great performance but cant shell out 550, i say the 280 is great. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
