First off, Advertisers don't sell tangible products, they sell access to them. The problem with the young generation is they have no attention span, and although advertisers want this market, doesn't mean that their market wants the product. So basing success on selling Ad space is not a business model. They're also too easily distracted and not brand loyal.... this is the same crowd that made MySpace a hit just 3 years ago... How'd that work out for them? Facebook does not have business model that can support Zuckerbergs $7B valuation... just proves how stupid some investors are, nothing more. Unless he convinces FaceBook users to allow "Ads" his business model collapses... And that will be the end of Facebook.

Go to Buy.com and see them ask you to sign in using FaceBook... and if you do you're a moron, since everyone on your list gets pestered with unwanted spam and ads when they're browsing? This will fail as well as counter efforts will be made to keep ones privacy.

RE: Facebook Becomes Most Visited Site On The Net

if websites keep integrating facebook, ill have no where to protest them ....

RE: Facebook Becomes Most Visited Site On The Net

Wow this is incredible, it really shows how society is moving towards becoming completely digitalized when the #1 website visited on the internet is a Social Networking website, society is literally moving onto the internet and out of person to person relations

RE: Facebook Becomes Most Visited Site On The Net

>> Julian Assange vs Mark Zuckerberg : Who is the real Man of the Year?

According to online measurement service Experian Hitwise, Facebook topped Google with 8.9 percent of all U.S. visits between January and November 2010.

Google came in a close second with 7.2 percent of all visits. In 2008 and 2009, Google.com dominated the top spot as the most visited website. In 2007, MySpace, another social networking website, enjoyed the top spot. MySpace is currently ranked No. 7.

Facebook's move to become the most visited site in the U.S. shows just how much the site has gained in popularity. In just six years, Facebook has become the world's largest web-based social network with approximately half a billion users.

Although Google may have lost the top spot, if you consider its properties such as YouTube and email, Google still reigns supreme. All together, Google and its properties had 9.9 percent of the visits between January and November 2010. To compare, Yahoo and all of its properties come in third with 8.1 percent.
