For a little over $1,000(not including kb, mouse, or monitor) you can have a STELLAR gaming experience and play most new games will all the setting cranked to the max!

Get yourself a nice cheap AMD setup or a Core i3/i5 setup and toss in a GTX 460 give it a litle overclock and you'll be in gaming bliss :-D

The 875K is relatively new in the market and I assume that Intel had a price reduction planned for the 870 when they released the 875K at such a low price point. The huge cut on the 870 is good news, but most of us would have opted for the unlocked "K" version anyway.

The brand new Processors are good news too. The i5-760 is compelling to me since I have firsthand knowledge of the i5-750's stellar performance and attractive price point.

All in all, it's a good time to be a consumer, mainly because there are many new technologies out there that when combined, translate to smokin' fast home gaming boxes for not a lot of money. You don't HAVE to buy the very best, most expensive gear to have a decent gaming experience anymore.

That is a rather huge price cut on that 870... however... looking at the complete list of CPUs, they hardly made any cuts at all. Kind of dissappointing.

And that 870 was hugely overpriced when you could get a 875 at the same clock speeds AND unlocked.

The i7-870 took a 48% price cut and now it's priced in line with the '875K' series chip.

The i5-750 2.6GHz. now has a big brother, the i5-760 @2.8GHz..
