I’m Jennifer Johnson and I’ve been writing professionally for about five years. I love all types of technology, but I get especially excited about cameras, phones, gadgets, and mobile tech. You’ll also see me running laptops and netbooks through their paces every so often. Most of my articles focus around my passions, but I also love the fact that I get to cover a wide variety of topics in the news.

I hope you continue to enjoy the news & articles. Keep the comments coming!

Re: Introductions?

Hah, you threw me off for a second...
What I can say is ARM is just next door and when we come down to x86 vs. ARM this'll be a big upcoming battle this year and into 2010, with Intel trying to move in on the traditional ARM territory.

Keep tuned!

Hey Michael any chance on getting some news about some MIPS products. Ya know being over in Europe and all.
I'm Amy Vernon, and I was a professional newspaper journalist for nearly 20 years. I've covered most general news topics, and for HH I mostly write more consumer-focused articles such as that you actually ARE
getting more spam in your e-mail inbox and that Time Warner &
Comcast are joining forces to get more original content online.

I'm sort of an expert non-tech person. I set up the DVR, write basic
html, troubleshoot problems with any electronics in our house. I could
even put something relatively basic together if I had really good
instructions. I can even understand most of what people are talking about when they talk tech.

But I'm not one of those folks who's going to put a new
computer through its paces, because mine would be like a stroll
compared with, well, most of the other writers on the site.

Re: Introductions?

Thanks for sharing Michael! Ah "nvidia's donkey punch," the 3DFX VooDoo4 4500 was my first real graphics card.

Re: Introductions?

OK, seems like I'll be the newb that gets to expose himself to our beloved mob. As the new-guy-with-no-cred-whatsoever I am at a disadvantage here, but I'll leave it up to your kind follow-up comments...

I'm Mike Cunningham and you'll find me across the pond in Europe with my eyes and ears tuned into the PR noise of the European and North American hardware vendors. In the course of my work I get to talk to some of the weirdest characters and finest people in the business - and that is something you just can't beat!

My history with computers really is History. I can sum it up like this: I started off on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K computer, back in 1982, moved onto a Commodore Amiga 512 (these two are almost alien to North America) and later bought my first PC ... a no-name-brand 386SX-based computer... man, what a mistake! Later on moved onto a "real" Pentium at 66MHz and sometime later got my first AMD processor, an Am5x86 133MHz processor... my second mistake. Followed this with a Celeron 400, a Dual Celeron 533MHz (Abit BP6 rules!), and five (yes, five) Pentium III 500's. playing Diablo II and Quake II was pretty much my driving force at the time. Hardware became a passion in 1998, really. I've used pretty much every graphics card and CPU since that time, from the lowliest AMD to the Core i7.

I've got a collective 11 years worth of writing under my belt, inexorably about hardware. I traversed several turning points in CPU and GPU History - so I was there when Nvidia came up and donkey-punched 3DFx with Riva TNT and when AMD trounced Intel's Pentium III with Athlon. It does provide perspective on a lot of things and perspective is important.

Things have come full circle in the meantime, but as the rat race continues I'm sure there'll be a lot of incredible news to deliver to you guys.

Enjoy the site, enjoy the news!

Re: Introductions?

Great idea!
