thanks bob. I think It should be a great rig.

probably gonna be running NWN2, COD 4, DoW II, combat arms, fallout 3 and tf2 on it.

I think that should be fine.

I will probably upgrade to 8gigs of RAM, and a better CPU later.

cant wait to get the case, I actually worship that case, I think it's beutifull.

Yeah I don't think you will see much difference between the 1GB and 512MB cards unless you move up to a higher end card.

Good luck and let us know how it goes or if you have anymore questions. My girlfriend has a 9600gt 512mb, a Core2duo 1.8GHz, 2GBs of ram and she runs Team Fortress 2 and Sims 3 at max settings on her computer, so I think you're building a nice rig for the price.

when I thought about it i reckoned that a 1G card would be technologically up-to-date longer than a 512mb

card but i could definitley be wrong. also, its a mobo-CPU combo, the card isnt included in the combo, so if the 512mb is the same all around then I could save some money and go with that.

I think for a gaming setup that will serve you much better. You don't need the 1024MB version of the 9600gt, but if its a combo deal that is a good price then no harm in the extra memory.

wow...I just figured out a mobo, CPU, Graphics Card setup that I think meets all of your requirements that is EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE AS THE LAST SETUP.

I would do a mobo/CPU combo from tiger direct which is the intel pentium dual core E5200 with the intel DG43NB mobo

and the MSI GeForce 9600 GT Video Card - 1024MB GDDR2 video card, which leaves me at the exact same price of 559.90

how does that sound? better?

Indeed, What bob said is right on the money... The GPU will be the limiter in this current configuration. you might even look into the early C2D series, like the E6600, Its a great CPU, and mobos are inexpensive for them.

If your into the look of that case then it is a fairly good case from what I have read. I dont have personal exp. with it though. Everything looks pretty good. The only thing I would recommend is that if your primary concern is gaming go with a maybe a Pentium dual core or cheap Core2duo and using the savings to get a 9600gt or a ATI 4830. It will improve your gaming a good bit. Most games won't make use of the other 2 cores and the ones that will won't run will on a 9500gt. Its up to you of course. You may have something else that you do that will make use of the other cores.

hey I am doing a gaming system on the cheap and I need to verify that these parts will all work with each other.

I'm pretty sure they will but i thought I might just make sure.

please help

1) XION Simple Power 630W ATX Power Supply

2)EVGA GeForce 9500 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR2

3) Asus M4N78 Pro GeForce 8300 Motherboard

4) AMD Phenom X4 9600 Quad Core Processor

5)Corsair XMS2 4GB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz memory upgrade (will this work for memory or is it just for upgrading?)

6)Western Digital WD3200AAKS Caviar Blue Hard Drive - 3.5", 320GB, 7200rpm, 16MB, SATA-300, OEM

7)GMC R4 Bulldozer ATX Black Mid-Tower Case (love this case)

I know I cheaped out on the video card but thats pretty much all I can afford....

what are your guys thoughts on the R-4? I think it sounds great! plus its the best looking case out there, I think.
