i think it is really interesting to look back at what we were thinking when we first saw these products. it has been a little more than one year since the transformer debuted and already the transformer prime has been released. asus is at the top of the game. granted the slider was a bit of a bust.

I am pretty sure you can RAID 2 PCI-E SSD's, but if they were just SATA3 you can do considerably more. Personally in raid flavors RAID 5 is my favorite. You get the performance and the reliability. I know RAID 10 etc are cool, but with raid 5 you can still relatively control the cost to a point.

You can already Crossfire or SLI across two, three, or even four PCI-E slots with video cards using the right platform.

Now,........just imagine the performance you would see if you could RAID your PCI-E drives the same way? 3 or 4 together would be smokin' fast, Eh? What kind of performance would we see then?

It's a very compelling idea,.......

That seem true of course realneil for now. It would seem that the SATA3/6 drives would willingly remedy performance issues, but there not really available yet, although I am positive that very shortly will be remedied.

Some PC platforms are saddled with limited PCI-E bandwidth. (think P55) So a SATA SSD is a better fit for some systems.

Very true with the available bandwidth on a PCIe port the operating speed has to be crazy fast. Then with an SSD with would be able to use all of its speed at least seemingly.

cant wait to get my hands on the PCIe SSD's... they got to be ungodly fast if going through a PCIe port :) 3 second operating system boot ime im talking about :D

Thats very true as well as another reason I would love to go at least once. Who knows maybe next year if this business ends up making money. I could probably write it off to because the business is involved with PC hardware primarily.

I for one would love to go even if just for the novelty of saying I had been once. Not to mention all the great stuff I would be able to see and interact with.

I'm a big fan of the pictures in the end. Having never been to CES (someday), i like to see the people, other than reporters/ journalists, involved and how they get to make the event possible. For example, the "alleged" 6990 card from EVGA. I'm amazed that someone from RnD most likely conjured up this card, tested it for some time, it went from hand to hand, and finally some manager decided, HEY... lets take this and put it on our CES booth to see what people think. Best aprt, we wont tell them what it is, but let them guess. I find that fascinating. Good the see the pics of the OCZ crew as well.
