&lt;p&gt;You only need an internal modem if you&amp;#39;re using dial-up.&amp;nbsp; If you&amp;#39;re going to use DSL or Cable, they will generally have a separate external modem - to which you will connect via USB or Ethernet (both of which are included on just about any motherboard you can find nowadays).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You will also need a power supply, if your case does not come with one.&amp;nbsp; Most cases that include PS&amp;#39;s include cheap (quality) PS&amp;#39;s.&lt;/p&gt;

You dont need a phone modem unless you are going to use dial up.If your into gaming and doing it online then you need a network card which in most cases these days are built into the motherboard and that would be the route I would take! &lt;p&gt;I am building a gaming rig and I need to know what parts I need besides the CPU, Mobo, Video card, HD, RAM, ODD and Case&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I dont think I need a sound card becuase one comes on the mobo.&lt;/p&gt;
