Just a Tip if your planning on runnning Vista you'd probally want to get 4gigs and get the 64bit version. 2gb just isnt enough to power it, in my opnion. But if your running XP then 2gigs will be more than fin. Don't expect to much out of them if you watercool. The 1 thing you can expect out of them is too leak. Look around at others who have had the board and you'll see. All of these boards are great boards imo.

Honestly if you want to oc and good a good board for your money I would go with this DFI board. Even though it only supports DDR2 I think it's a great buy for what you want and DDR2 is cheaper anyway

Re: MoBo advice?

I don't have any knolage on any of them first hand, Just a few reviews and the past mobo's from the companies. The Maximus isn't bad, but i do think your paying a premium for the "water" option that it sound like you won't use. The Evga mobo is actually the current top end chipset from Nvidia, just like the X48 is for Intel. I didnt even notice that the Rampage was only DDR2 i assumed it would be since ever other mobo i looked at that has the X48 chipset was. I never would have figure that it would not have supported it. My all in all I think the pefromance increase you get from DDR3 isn't then best, top end DDR2 is still really competive. Do some tweaking on it and get the CPU and RAM running quick and in 1:1 FSB to ram MHz then it will fly.

Hope that helped some, its not a big deal keep the questions comming that why i come back every day it to help out.

Re: MoBo advice?

Azur:

SqUiD

Aus Maximus one seams to be a good one. Maybe its the one i'm looking for. It's a shame that it uses x38. But eventhough, i cant tell the differences between x38 and x48. (maybe you can?) And you say its good with OC.
But i question myself, it supports watercooling, does that make it more expensive? the price fits my wallet though.

Thank you very much for your respons!

xX

ps. It doesnt cost more, beacuse it has holes if water cooling is used, if not air is used. Air works perfectly fine with it. The only advantage with x48 is the guarantee of 1600mhz FSB. x38 is not. Like I said its OCing abilities is good because you get full control like voltage, FSB, ect. Hope this helped.

This link explains it more deeply.

Re: MoBo advice?

Azur:

It's a shame that the Asus rampage doesnt support DDR2.

The Asus Maximus is a great board too!

All three of these boards are great options you cant go wrong!

That was really an answer i was looking for

It's a shame that the Asus rampage doesnt support DDR2. But i might consider it. Do you know how it goes with OC?

And about the Asus P5E3 It might be too expensive for me, it wasnt a part of my budget. How is it to OC with?

Evga It had quite the same price as the P5E3 and had the old chipset (as u mentioned) It also supports 3way SLI (ultra SLI). I mean maybe in the future i'll go SLI but 3way is not jsut worth it, til i need that good of grafic preformence, i guess i'll buy another system. And the fact that that MoBo has has three SLI ports, maybe that makes it.. how should i put it... "more expensive" right?

What's you opinion about the Asus Maximus Mesiter? (That SqUiD suggest) and what MoBo would you go for? (from those youjsut suggested) and why?

No offense Der meister, sorry for (keeping) asking troublesome questions. I'm very glad that you assist me in my seeking of the perfect MoBo.

Thanks!

AAzzz.

Thank you very much for your respons!

xX

ps. Sorry for a long post.

Re: MoBo advice?

Der Meister:

Ok I'll try my best to answer your question.

The Gygabyete one ($330): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128330

- Its a good board but, its expensive and comes with little as far as the package goes.

Asus Rampage ($290) *I would reccoment this one to you*: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131284

- Almost the same as the Gygabyet borad but its less expensive and comes with a better bundel. Also it has some nicer features. Built into the bios.

Asus P5E3 Premium ($370): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131276

- Same as above but has nicer heat pipe designe and come with built in wifi recever.

Evga 132-CK-NF790-A1 ($340): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188025

- The only board that is not running the X48 chipset of the bunch. 790i is a good chipset, it has some problems with some types of ram, but all in all is a good board.

Rampage is a good idea, but it doesnt support DDR3. And Azur I take it you didnt like my post. Let me try to explain. The maximus is better becuase cost a lot less and gives you the smae functionality, and more OCing options in the bios.

Re: MoBo advice?

Ok I'll try my best to answer your question.

The Gygabyete one ($330): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128330

- Its a good board but, its expensive and comes with little as far as the package goes.

Asus Rampage ($290) *I would reccoment this one to you*: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131284

- Almost the same as the Gygabyet borad but its less expensive and comes with a better bundel.
