Wow, I have learned A LOT today about folding lol

I now have 8 CPU and 2 GPU clients running on my system lol

I picked up a program called fahmon to monitor my F@H progress.

I'm cranking out right about 15,000 PPD :-D

How do you have 8 cpu and 2 gpu? Also, why do you want all that on one system?  One gpu client slows my computer by a ton, I need to turn it off when I'm using the computer.

well it's a Core i7 and a GTX295. So it's 4 cores w/Hyperthreading. So it shows up as 8 cores. running 1 cpu client only uses 13% of the CPU. It only uses 100% when I turn run 8 of them. I was running 1 GPU client... but figured out it was only using 1 of the 2 GPUs. So I did some research and figured out how to get a 2nd one running to use BOTH GPUs.

There isn't any noticable slow down for web browsing. I just opened up a video on VLC, and opened iTunes and started playing some music while all 10 folding clients are going... everything opens instantly... no slow down. This system is a beast lol

For shits and giggles I just loaded up Grid. It was slightly slower to load and the game didn't run AS smoothly as before, but it was still playable. BUT that is more than likely due to the fact that in order to run 2 GPU folding clients I had to disable "multi-GPU" support. So the game is only running off 1 GPU. And it noticably affects the folding performance.

Hrm, I have issues running the gpu client, that one slows me down.  For your cpu clients are those the smp clients?

Acarzt, If you will check out this link  http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1410289 It might help you out on getting the smp clients running on that I7 and help push out more ppd. I just have it running on q6600 with 2 instances running but I know some guys that have four instances running on there quads and they kick out some serious numbers

Sorry edit doesnt work again lol. Anyways what the notfreds vmware does is it uses a linux based smp client that someone made up to get the most out of our cpus. But the only drawback is they use alot of memory. Pretty much say for every instance of the vmware it uses a 1gb of memory. So if you wanted to run them you would have to shut them down when you wanted to use ur pc and restart them back up when you were done.

I just got my computer switched over to Windows 7 and I'm wondering if there is a 64bit gpu client?

I also keep getting errors with the smp client...saying

"Could not extract core

Core download error (#_) the blank is because the number keeps changing...Any advice?

The gpu client I believe doesnt have a 32 bit or 64 bit client that would just be the smp client. Also which smp client are you trying to download and install.

You guys know if the gpu client registers an sli setup?  Or do you need to run two clients?
