It would have been much better for the judge to have ruled for the information to be turned over to an independent third party for investigative purposes.
Kinda like all the phoney 'comments' on news articles with people claiming they are earning $5,000 per week for farting and then smelling it!!
I prefer to fart in the bathtub, and bite the bubbles for $100.00 apiece.

Dogs are great judges of character, and if your dog doesn't like somebody being around, you shouldn't trust them.
As a lawyer, I think the author of this article is confused about the role of the First Amendment in this case. Freedom of speech gives one the right to express an opinion, but it does not provide the person who expresses that opinion the right to maintain a cloak of anonymity. When you "stand up for your rights" there is an expectation that "standing up" means being willing to identify yourself.
