Doesn't bother me at all as long as the ads are not intrusive. I'd still quicker opt for a "Pro" ad-free version, though.
Aaaaaand hacking the app to remove ads.
I find it more interesting in the using the regular android email app with a different email provider you can't attach certain file types. This has really annoyed me on several occasions. Work around was to use the browser on the phone to access the email account and attach the files that way, big PITA on a phone screen but its only an occasional annoyance.
