Google's Nexus 4 is one of the most popular Android phones available. There are a number of reasons why, starting with that fact that it offers a sparkly clean version of Jelly Bean without any third-party overlays or carrier bloatware. What's also enticing is that there's no waiting for months on end for new Android builds to be rolled out. And finally, it's pretty affordable with a starting price of $299 (8GB), a great deal for an unlocked and contract free phone. Will its successor be just as popular?

That remains to be seen, but one thing we know is that LG Electronics will again build the device for Google, if a report in The Korea Times is accurate. The article focuses on the differences between Samsung and LG, but it's mentioned in passing that LG is currently working with Google to make another Nexus-branded Android phone. Apparently LG is also interested in expanding its partnership and wants to have a hand in future endeavors as well, including Google Glass.

Nexus 4

As to the Nexus 5 phone rumor, it's an interesting show of faith by Google, which blamed the initial shortage of Nexus 4 devices on LG's inability to keep up with demand. LG acknowledged as much, but insinuated Google was also partially to blame since LG supplies product quantities based on retailers' forecasts.

So, what might the Nexus 5 be like? Based on a recent rumor, the Nexus 5 could debut with a 5.2-inch OLED display with a Full HD 1080p resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 16MP rear-facing camera, and a few other odds and ends.

I got the Nexus 4 a few months ago. I'm loving it. I like stock android and the build of this phone much better than the Galaxy 2 that I had before. I was worried I'd break the glass in a week, but not a scratch on the glass yet. I did scratch the chrome in the bottom corner when I dropped it on the cement getting out of my car bit its hardly noticeable. Those are some pretty crazy specs if that is true for the new nexus. I've not been left wanting yet with the 1.5 quad core and 2GBs or ram.

Jesus if those specs are correct then the Nexus 5 will literally be a top dog in mobile hardware along with they get Android releases first.
