Gigabyte Touts Tablets, Notebooks and All-in-Ones At CES 2013

Gigabyte gave us a tour of its new laptops, tablets, and everything in-between this week in Las Vegas. As with all of the big names at CES, Gigabyte is serious about getting touch screens on most devices running Windows 8 (with the exception of some of its heavy-duty gamer laptops - and even those will likely have touch down the road).

 

One standout is the new Gigabyte S1185 tablet, which has an 11.6-inch full HD IPS display. Forget RT for this baby - the S1185 runs true Windows 8 on a third-gen Intel Core processor. Pair the tablet with the magnetic keyboard, and you have yourself a Windows 8 PC.

Gigabyte also has itself a behemoth of a gaming laptop. The Gigabyte P2742G has a 17-inch screen and wide shoulder. Take it to a LAN party and you're certain to get comments on its sheer size. As you'd expect, it has a Core i7 processor and it's paired with Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M graphics. Gigabyte used the laptop's extra space to add two storage bays for RAID 0 configurations. (The system supports up to 2TB of storage.)

One thing we didn't expect to see today was the GA-B75TN, a mini-ITX board that Gigabyte designed for new Intel-based all-in-ones.

Intel and Gigabyte are working to provide DIY AIO systems for those of us who want to have a say in what goes into our AIOs. The board supports LGA1155 processors and has DP, HDMI, and LVDS outputs, as well as USB 3.0 and mSATA. You get to make the calls on processor, memory, storage, etc.

Finally, there was a custom painted gaming PC from Gigabyte that just casually caught our attention...

O-Kayyy... that's what you call freaky-deeky.  Don't say we haven't shown you anything new today. The system was commissioned by Gigabyte and is the work of Lee Harrington and his friend. "All mods to case were done by me (Pcjunkie Mods) and consist of the case was totally de-riveted to get 2 tone orange and black powder coating," says Harrington. "I also cut a big window in the side panel and made a custom 360mm radiator bracket for the front. The airbrush work was done by my friend Nano from Airraidairbrush."

A Cooler Master Storm Stryker case houses a Gigabyte Z77X-UP7 motherboard, an Intel Core i7 3770K process, and two Gigabyte GTX680's, as well as 16GB of Patriot Viper Extreme memory. The watercooling gear is mostly from Koolance, aside from the Mayhems orange cooling liquid. Our only regret is that we didn't a chance to fire up a game on this PC.
