As the months march on, we're starting to see a more varied array of form factors in the tablet universe. As companies move to differentiate themselves from the pack, we've seen firms like Asus offer up the PadFone, which essentially traps a phone inside of a tablet shell for quite the unique piece. Now, the TransPhone is emerging, and in a lot of ways, it borrows the ideas that the PadFone made famous.

The kicker here is that it costs nearly half as much as the PadFone. It's a 3G GSM unlocked product, equipped with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The phone portion boasts a 3.5" 960x540 display, along with a 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. The price? $239.99, and it's up for pre-order now.

No wonder it is so cheap. Those specs are from tow years ago.

The specs are defintely outdated but at least the price reflects that right? I could see this being a great phone for a kid 13-17 for who this phone would be plenty good enough and transforms to more easily take notes, read, play games, and for video. I imagine there are adults that would want this too but we here would need better specs than this in order to consider it.
