To commemorate the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S., HotHardware and our friends at Thermaltake, Gigabyte, and AMD teamed up to put together one heck of an exciting full-system give-away! This time around you all had a chance to win an AMD FX-8320-infused, custom-built rig complete with 8GB of RAM, a Gigabyte 990FX-based motherboard and Radeon HD 7950 graphics card—among many other goodies--all wrapped up in a slick Thermaltake Level 10 GT Battle Edition case. To sweeten the deal, the system also features a wide array of Thermaltake accessories including their awesome Level 10 mouse, MEKA G1 keyboard, and a gaming headset. The complete parts list and breakdown for this custom gaming rig are listed below:
Welcome to the winner's circle!
Thanks HotHardware and our very giving sponsors, for another great contest.
Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone you may still exist, but you have ceased to live.
Woooooooo! I've had enough heart attacks the past few days with my e-mail notifying me of a reply, that this time I wasn't even expecting it. Don't get me wrong, I just walked over to my wife and woke her up from a nap to tell her about it, she rolled over, grunted and went back to sleep. She's not as excited unfortunately...
Not only did I win a computer raging beast, but I felt like I've found a good place to settle down and share my opinions with other people with similar interest as myself. Every person here that I've conversed with, has been something I can only describe as a "good dude" (This applies to Manduh and any other females as well, lol). I can't wait to be here when someone else gets their big win!
Merry Christmas to all, and a big thanks to everyone at HotHardware for making this place what it is. A place like no other.
Congrats man! You did it! Glad to hear you're going to stick around. See ya in the threads!
This sure was a fun one, thanks HH and all the sponsors!

Congrats! If there was a HH pool of who'd win, I would've picked you. Enjoy this monster, I think you certainly earned it. This place could use a little more Dorkstar and a little less "Good inf, is good game!" and "GREAT PRIZE".

And thanks again to the good folks at HotHardware, Thermaltake, AMD and Gigabyte for delivering us from the brink of Apocalyptic doom with such a great system. Oh yeah, you know what you did.
Right back at ya!
Congrats Dorkstar! I don't even know you, but I'm excited for you anyway. Enjoy the new system. Merry Christmas everyone!
Well, the Holiday festivities are finally coming to a closing. After opening all my presents this morning, my best friend and I spent the next few hours going over every detail of this build. Needless to say, I'm even more excited about it now.
Thanks everyone for the congratulations. I'll be here to pass it on to one of you the next go around. ; )
Did I miss the build video for this puppy?
I'm not sure if it's been posted yet.
Marco shot me a e-mail last Thursday saying that he was still waiting on parts to come in from Thermaltake. So, hopefully it should be up soon!
Some things are definitely worth waiting for,.....and Marco never disappoints in his builds.
Nope, I was employed with a company that was selling workstations for use in 3d heart valve replacement, but the company had issues getting off the ground, so I got 3 week left there until they lay me off.
However, with the impending layoff I've been exploring other options, and have started dabbling in my own hardware review/technology news blog. I don't expect it to be profitable, and I've really been focused on getting some things done around the house since they gave me a week off. I've also been working with a few friends who do home theater automation and installation. We've been working with a CPA to file for an LLC, and have an official business going. Unfortunately were having some difficulty getting any work, so I may back out and let them two get it up and going while I figure out where I'm going now.
I've spent the past 9 years in healthcare equipment related jobs, everything from repairing equipment, buying parts, to my most recent employment of running everything from the home office with the intention of managing a field service team for various products relate to minimally invasive heart valve replacement and 3d mapping of veins throughout the body. Unfortunately, I only made it out of the office to a site one time, and the money maker of the 2 products didn't launch when expected. So I'm looking into going back to school to finish my degree, grab a few more certifications (mainly cisco and microsoft), and get back into what I love, IT. Right now i'm planning on network security, it seems like a nice niche field, where I work without being bothered.
