Is Herman Miller a celebrity chair maker or something? $534 for a chair just seems outrageous, i'd rather buy 5 $100 chairs over 20 years.
That's actually a great price for an Aeron. If you're stuck in a chair for hours and hours on end, it's worth the investment over something crappy. Better comfort, support, less fatigue, etc. My Aeron is going on 9 years old (it was a group gift from family) and I couldn't be happier with it.

I'm sure it's excellent quality, but $500?! Man I can think of a lot of other things to do with $500. Would you go out and spend $500 of your own money on this chair?
Well, not on my existing budget, but if I had the means, yes. I spend so many hours a day in it, that's worth it for the advantages it offers over a crappy, mass-produced chair.
