Clash of power, from what it sounds like he wanted to run things his way and that's not how everyone wanted it. Its a shame, i'm been playing with windows 8 for a few weeks and surface for about a week, I have to say i do love windows 8, the change wasnt hard at all, with the win+x shortcut I find getting to what i need faster. The tablet is is great so far, we have been testing it and it was approved to roll out. I have to say most people that i have shown windows 8 like it, they like the new UI. I dont know, hater will be haters.
It's no wonder he's said nothing ill of the company. Even though they undoubtedly told him to take a hike, he doesn't want them to end up blaming what are sure to be abysmal sales numbers completely on his head as businesses stick with Win7 and skip the Win8 cycle. Developers are not happy with things are being run either, as it's becoming more apparent to them that Microsoft's long-term vision is to limit people to the Windows Store so that MS can take a share of the profits on all apps.
>> "To continue this success it is imperative that we continue to drive alignment across all Microsoft teams, and have more integrated and rapid development cycles for our offerings."
That's Ballmer codespeak to expect Windows 9 to be rushed out before businesses have time to start seriously considering a jump to OSX or Linux. This is totally in line with what I said we should expect months ago. 2014, anyone?

How mature. I'm glad you had an intelligent counterpoint to add to the discussion.I normally delete personal attacks in the forum. But when they're against me, they're kind of cute.
