iPhone 4 and 4S Users Report Excessive Battery Drain with iOS 6

Absolutely nothing hanged about the battery life in our iphone4 or ipad2. My iphone5 gets slightly less battery time than my iphone4 but with the added power and larger screen its understandable.

How are people saying they had great battery life on their 4s, they were complaining about having less battery life than the ip4 since day one. It also seems that every iOS update and people of older hardware complain about battery life.

I've been having massive battery drain on my iPhone 4S but not on my iPad 3 or my iPhone 4 that I use for work. It seems that only the 4S has the problem.

I have an iPhone 4 16 gb that is a little over 2 years old. I never had battery drain issues until I upgraded to iOS 6. Before iOS 6 I would routinely have 50% or more left at the end of the day, after upgrading I was always nearly out of juice.  I followed a friends advice and it worked! Battery holds a charge like before, maybe even a little better.

• Let the iPhone battery completely drain ( even after the battery drained I left it overnight to make sure it was completely drained)
• Charged it the next morning to a 100% (took about 3 hours maybe less)
• I set the screen brightness to a little below half and set it to auto- brightness
• Mail contacts set to fetch new data off (I check mail manually now)
• I also turned off location services (settings-privacy-location service) (I am still messing with this and turning them on when needed)
• Tried most things in Apples link http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html

I have not noticed a difference on my iPad, I don't have a smartphone of any kind, I travell a lot and I don't know which one to get and getting an unlocked and buying SIM cards. I think I am posting this in the wrong spot hmm sorry

Yes I have battert drain. I use the phone for calls during the day (and not that many) and I would get home with battery life in low 90%. Now I am in th 70 to 80% range

i have the same problem with my iphone 4s 16GB upgraded to IOS 6 , my battery drain so fast even if i don't use my iphone , 6% to 8% in every 1 hour even if my iphone is in a sleep mode and all the applications and wifi is off.

Its the I/R sensor for Siri, its always on, even if you disable "raise to speak" or even disable Siri fully. I'm sure that eats up the battery whenever the phone is in use!

Map + location service, Siri and new LTE network support inter faces are main reason to drain battery faster in iOS6.

You people also can try " SYS Activity Manager " as expert utility application for iOS.

I updated my IPod touch 4s with IOS 6 and now am repenting. The battery  lasts half the time or even less, though I have tried disabling  so many things suggested.

Waiting for a fix by apple now.

I honestly think any related to a battery drain is user related, that or Apple just got a bad batch of batteries and doesn't want to admit it.

My uses the Iphone 4s, I use the Iphone 5, and neither of us have had battery issues.  (However I did have to replace my iphone 4 battery 12 months and 1 week after buying it).

The way I see it, you have two options.

1.  Change your e-mail settings to push new e-mails every hour or longer.  If you really need to check it more often, check it when you think about it (this is what I do).

2.  Stop streaming media all day unless you know you can plug it in later.

Or if you are completely convinced iOS 6 is the root cause to all your problems, back up your phone, go find an earlier release on iOS 5, and install iOS5 back on your Iphone.  

Oh, then there's always the option to buy a case with a backup battery as well.
