When Asus asked us if we'd be interested in a reviewing their new, high-end USB 3 implementation that offered better performance than anything available elsewhere, we were skeptical. Historically, USB performance has been a function of which controller (Intel, AMD, NEC, Texas Instruments, VIA, etc.) was used. Asus claimed, however, that while you did need certain USB controllers to take maximum advantage of this new implementation, they'd built a solution that could accelerate transfer speeds on any third-party USB 3.0 (and even 2.0) controller. Customers don't need a specific brand of SSD or HD either; drives from any of the major vendors would work... Asus Turbocharges USB 3.0 with SCSI Technology
Nice Job Asus, keep up the good work.
I have that thing on my new motherboard...I still must find if it's really effective! I'll do some benchmarks with a fast USB3.0 key ;). Anyway I saw other brands with similar technologies.....gigabyte and asrock have them too....so why the need of these technologies?
Gotta love ASUS. Usually leading the way with new tech. Im still impressed with the speeds of USB 3.0 over 2.0 and this just makes it even better.
