Hi gang!  I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this post, so Admin, feel free to move it to a more appropriate thread if necessary.  I have an older model HP and I must confess I've been hard on it.  It's about four years old, so it's not ancient, however.  I've had a lot of video footage on it and so forth and now it's rather slow.  I've gotten much of that off it, but it still runs slow.  Is it a bad sign when you set it to defrag the hard drive overnight and it's still doing it the next morning??  What can I do about this.  What's the best clean-up software for my money?  Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Hi Robin55lets us know how much ram you have ,,,by the way when was the last time you ran a full check disc [chkdsk] on that hard disk ?f full repair of bad sectors  probably a good idea to get the important  data backed up too !

best free cr^p cleaner is CCleaner

Auslogics Disk defrag   much better than MS dewfrag   priced right too ie Free

you nay already have these but posted to get ya started

.Welcome to HH and let us know how some it goes ..folks around here are eager to help :)

You could also run ATF-Cleaner and clean out all the temporary folders.

And uninstall software you don't need and then run the defrag over night again.
