I agree W/Marco on 2 things most definitely raided 10k and 7200RPM drives are not very different especially for a third of the price point. As for the energy usage line with a device that does all a computer system does being under 50 watts that is incredible. Anyways great podcast guys as usual and I'm looking forward to the contest to as it has been a minute since we've had one.

Great broadcast as usual. From what I am hearing the Ivy Bridge chips have very concentrated heat spots and certain types of coolers work best.

Is there any truth to this assessment for your experience with the chip so far.

I really don't see the point for 10K drives anymore except for possibly in servers, with SSDs becoming cheaper the 10K drive is no longer needed. I really don't need a 1TB boot drive though if Max Pane 3 is any indication of the size of future games (needs 35GB of free space) we may soon.
