Adventure gaming dead? Only because the genre was abandoned, and the only games released in the past 15 years have been utter carp. The Double Fine adventure kickstarter is a pretty clear indication that interest in the genre is nowhere near dead.
I love adventure games... they are all about the story telling usually. The problem I believe is that everyone is obsessed with producing the same FPS/RTS games over and over again. No one has produced a decent adventure game in a long time.

Adventure gaming has become a niche format but it is far from dead; Back to the Future: The Game and the latest Sam & Max games are evident of this. What I'm more proud about is the fact that Al Lowe is finally behind the helm of Larry after many crappy games and attempts to relive past glory, hopefully he can bring the Larry back to Larry Suit Leisure that was missing from the last couple of games.
