i always thought WD's SCSI/SAS drives were kind of half-assed. they have never seemed to shoot for anything but the middle of the road with their enterprise SCSI drives, while having top notch enterprise ATA. I know that they have a relatively small share of the SCSI market when compared to seagate, hitachi, and fujitsu.....but it doesn't seem like they have ever made any sort of push for it. I'm a hitachi man when it comes to SCSI/SAS. this is still a pretty big market too, as much as you would be led to believe that SSD's are replacing everything. Can't help but think these are nearline SAS drives that they concocted out of left over raptors. Also, 15k drives are considerably faster than 10k drives,,,,but WD doesnt seem to care.
