As the premiere model in NEC's next generation MultiSync EA Series of desktop displays for high-performance enterprise users, the EA273WM-BK brings a big 27-inch, LED-backlit display to the workplace and is ready to impress with a completely redesigned chassis that's up to 30 percent thinner and 25 percent lighter than previous models. It also has a 130mm height-adjustable stand and a boatload of inputs, including DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA, DVI-D, and an integrated 4-port USB 2.0 hub... NEC MultiSync EA273WM-BK 27-inch LED Monitor Review
Thank for the honest review Paul, when it comes to monitor reviews, I only trust you and Eric Franklins judgement . Its a good enough panel and NEC is a one of the best Brands when it comes to monitors but the price is a little too steep for my taste ,and although it does offer a few more features than other competing models and size, its not priced competitive enough for a TN Panel.
I recently bought a 27' Planar monitor from Dell for more than half the price of the NEC. It's for a Music Studio, I haven't had time to check it out , but buyer reviews are favorable so I expect it to be very good. No complaints so far from the studio, they like it.
Paul, just turn the brightness down to something more reasonable. Problem solved. Its not a fault of the monitor - every LED ships overly bright now. That'll take care of the overly bright overly saturated colors your having an issue with.
I just bought this monitor from Newegg. They had it on sale for $396. For that price its well worth it. Yes, I could have gotten a cheapo 27" for a $100 less, but that stand alone is worth half that and NEC's reputation for build quality is worth the rest. I'm quite happy.
