The Nook has the better hardware specs, which I think is definitely worth the extra $50.
BUT, the Kindle Fire has that high tech new browser which, for all we know, could be vastly superior to anything else out there and if that is the case, I think that adds a value that the Nook Tablet just can't match.
I dunno I like the idea of supporting the Nook more because B & N seem to have better thoughts about keeping their platform open. I think Amazon is more likely to lock down their device. Of course I am sure someone will figure out a way to root it so you could load a custom ROM.
I wonder if any of the Android "hackers" will figure out a way to get that cool browser on other devices or if Amazon might release it as an app in their store for other devices.
While the better specs are definitely worth the extra 50$, the user experience, in my opinion, is vastly more important.
We, techies, are always intrested in knowing the various hardware specs of what's in our hands but most people are not concerned with that and care solely for the convenience and smoothness of experience and operation. To them even looks matters way more.
