Aren't desktop replacements supposed to look big, bad, and aggressive? Apparently not all of them do, that is if you consider Sony's new Vaio F Series laptop to be one of them. Dressed in nearly all white (or all black, if you prefer), the sophisticated looking Vaio F Series is a 16.4-inch notebook built for multimedia chores.

The least expensive ready-to-ship F Series starts at $1,120 and includes an Intel Core i7 740QM processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive spinning at 7200RPM, Blu-ray reader, Nvidia GeForce GT 425M graphics with 1GB of video memory, GbE LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, USB 2.0 port, eSATA, HDMI, SD card slot, and other odds and ends.

Higher end models boast faster processors, Nvidia GeForce GT 540M or 520M graphics, bigger hard drives, etc. All of them sport a 1920x1080 Full HD screen resolution and can be connected to a PlayStation 3 console and other Sony connected devices with Remote Keyboard.

It's a nice looking Laptop, but I don't do Sony anymore.

Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone you may still exist, but you have ceased to live.
